GRANITE FALLS, Wash. -- A man driving a stolen RV led police on a wild chase Tuesday from South Everett to Granite Falls, where he crashed the recreational vehicle into a home and several cars before he was captured.

The incident began at about 5:30 p.m. after reports that a stolen motorhome was spotted in the South Everett area, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

"Everett police located and followed the vehicle.  The motorhome driver made his way to SR 9, where Washington State Patrol troopers and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop the vehicle," Ireton said. "The driver continued northbound to SR 92 and towards Granite Falls, allegedly swerving at WSP, Sheriff’s Office and civilian vehicles along the way."

She said the driver lost control of the RV, left the roadway and hit a house and several vehicles off of the Mountain Loop Highway between Quarry and Gun Club Roads.

"An adult male who was in one of the vehicles was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries," Ireton said.

After a brief foot pursuit, the 33-year-old male suspect was located in a nearby home and taken into custody around 6:40 p.m., she said.
