PORT ORCHARD -- Police caught a man accused of robbing a woman at the ferry terminal in Bremerton, but not the traditional way.

The suspect sent her a friend request on Facebook, according to court documents obtained by the Kitsap Sun.

The victim told police she was struck in the back of the head while listening to headphones Tuesday afternoon. The Kitsap Sun reports the suspect grabbed her iPod and purse and took off. The suspect told investigators she noticed a triangle tattoo on his neck.

The woman called police on Wednesday after she got a friend request on Facebook from a man with the same neck tattoo, the newspaper reported. The suspect likely found her name on the woman's ID card.

Police confirmed the account was registered to the suspect and charged the 28-year-old with second-degree robbery.
