Tony Costello in court: Felon ID'd by WMW viewers; accused of breaking woman's jaw faces judge for first time

FUGITIVE CAPTURED May 21, 2014 -- Kent police say because of Washington's Most Wanted viewers who called Kent police and identified him from surveillance video that aired on both Q13 FOX News and WMW, Tony Costello who is accused of breaking an 18 year old woman's jaw outside a convenience store when he kicked her in the head in Kent Easter night, was arrested with the assistance of Lakewood police at his home Tuesday night. Kent Det. Melanie Frazier says, “It’s quite exciting to get a capture like this. Collaborating with Washington's Most Wanted and getting tips that came in and actually being successful at apprehending somebody, it really makes everything worthwhile. This guy is a dangerous guy. He’s a convicted felon with multiple felonies for assault, so I think this is a great capture and I think it’s a  great ending to this story.” Costello is a 13x convicted felon with 27 arrests. He's scheduled to be in court on June 2nd. The victim had to have surgery to reattach her jaw and is still recovering.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN KENT April 26, 2014 -- A quick stop for food on the way to her dad’s house in Kent on Easter Sunday left an 18-year-old woman with a broken jaw. She hopes you can identify the man who attacked her for protecting her friends.

“It’s broken right here and it’s hanging off basically right here,” Ashley said, pointing to her injuries from the attack.

She underwent surgery later Thursday to fix her jaw.

Hearing Ashley speak, it’s clear the damage that’s been done. Her face is swollen and bruised.

Police say a man caught on surveillance video inside the 76 station in Kent’s West Hill is responsible.
