Bank robbery suspect returns to scene of the crime one day later

RENTON -- Police arrested a woman in front of the bank she was accused of robbing just a day earlier.

Renton police sent out a bulletin Thursday after a woman handed a bank teller a note demanding cash at the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union inside Safeway. Police said the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

On Friday, police said the same suspect attempted to rob the Chase Bank inside Fred Meyer on Renton Center Way. She walked away frustrated that the teller didn't give her any money, police said.

Officers responded, chased the suspect and tased her near the Safeway store. She was taken into custody and booked into the Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Police said the woman had been standing in line at the same Alaska USA Federal Credit Union she's accused of robbing on Thursday.
