BATTLE GROUND, Wash. --An 11-year-old girl who went missing in Battle Ground early Thursday morning was found in a nearby shed reading a book, officials said.

According to Clark County sheriff's deputies, the girl's parents discovered her missing from her bedroom early Thursday morning at their home near Northeast Lewisville Highway.

Search and rescue volunteers were called into the area to look for her, and she was found later in a nearby shed reading a book, KPTV reported.

The girl has no history of being a runaway, and her disappearance sparked a moment of panic through the tight-knit community.

Clark County Sheriff's Deputies were first on the scene, and no Amber Alert was issued.
