SEATTLE — Some workers at the McDonald’s on Seattle’s First Hill walked off the job Wednesday night and set up a strike line on Madison Avenue — hours before a national fast-food workers’ strike planned for Thursday.

The workers are backing a push for big corporations to pay a minimum wage of $15 an hour.

So no more jobs for students or people fresh out of high school who have no real job experience or marketable skills, I guess. Too bad, there really should be a place in society for those type of jobs. Jobs that aren't meant to support a family of four. Jobs that are to help folks earn extra money while in school or gain experience and job skills as a starting point. I did those jobs when I was in high school and college to earn extra money.

  • The World is Ending

I these protesters would put 1/2 the time and energy in to actually working to better themselves or looking for a better job that they do complaining and protesting they would easily find a job that pays $15 + per hour.

  • You don't deserve it

Flipping burgers dosent equal $15/hr… Ideally they should be making 7.50. Get an education and work hard for yourself. Those jobs are meant for high schooler/college kids making their way through school. I have 3 degrees and I worked hard for all of them. Now I have a career path. No more stupid handouts for whining liberals. Its not fair to add stress to our stagnate econmic system. Goodbye recovery… Hello Limbo.

You want higher pay? GO TO MANAGEMENT SCHOOL and get a promotion to store, unit or regional manager!!! A burger flipping job isn’t meant to be a CAREER choice. I know! That’s how I started my career back in the 70s at Burger King. If I wanted more pay, I had to PAY FOR IT. Period. They offer management school for those who have the INCENTIVE and INITIATIVE to get off their lazy asses and DO something with their lives.

The sheer STUPIDITY of today’s generation is mind-boggling.
