NYPD arrests accused 'Bank Lick' ringleader; says he bolted to Bronx after being on WMW

FUGITIVE CAPTURED March 28, 2014 -- The King County Sheriff's Office says Brandon Wilson was arrested by New York police in the Bronx on Friday. NYPD detectives say Wilson fled to the Bronx - where he's originally from -- after seeing himself on Washington's Most Wanted. WANTED IN KING COUNTY and SEATTLE Sep. 20, 2013 -- Cops say the bad guys call it a 'Bank Lick' -- street talk for a massive, well-organized fraud scam. And, when it comes to a large criminal organization accused of pulling-it off in King County, detectives say fugitive, Brandon Wilson, is the groups ringleader. King County Sgt. Cindi West explains just what the scam is, and the massive part Wilson has in it. "What happens is the account holder at the bank will give their pin number and their ATM card to another person involved in the scheme. That other person will then take fraudulent and forged checks, deposit them in that account, then withdraw funds on that account. Eventually, what will happen is the bank will figure out there's no money for those checks, and they'll close the account out, but the bad guys have already got money out of the account. So, what Wilson would do, is over the course of 4 and a half years, he recruited 38 people to do this scheme with him. What he would do is have them open up a bank account. They'd hand over their pin number and their ATM card to him. He would deposit fraudulent checks, and he was able to get more than $90,000 in that time period, from money that wasn't there.” Detectives say Wilson's originally from New York, and has the ‘Bronx’ tattooed on his left arm to let everyone know. The tattoo on his neck is faded, so it's tough to make out exactly what those two cursive words say, but you'll recognize it if you spot him on the street!
