Package-stealing perp: Caught on camera stealing from front porch

porchWANTED IN SEATTLE -- At Washington's Most Wanted, we love great surveillance video of crooks in action, especially when the camera takes really clear images. A surveillance camera is one of the best ways you can help protect your home from thieves and help cops bust them. A homeowner in Seattle's South Beacon Hill neighborhood recently caught a suspected thief taking a package right off the porch -- and detectives are hoping you can identify him. "We're gonna get this guy just because somebody put in a good surveillance camera," said retired Seattle police detective Myrle Carner, of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. The camera in the homeowner's front yard is so good that you can hear the gate open and a dog bark when a man comes strolling up to the porch with some papers in his hand. "This is a guy who walks in calm, cool, collected," Carner said. He takes a package and leaves the papers behind. "Now he acts like any other crime guy that's stealing stuff -- he runs towards the front gate. He doesn't even take time to close the gate," Carner said. "So somebody watching this, they know who this guy is and we need to know his name." Take another look -- you can clearly see his brown hair and bearded face, baggy jeans and light blue tennis shoes. You can see him drive off in a dark green or blue Honda Accord with dark tinted windows. Detectives say he waited until a postal worker delivered packages in the neighborhood and then made his move. But thanks to the surveillance system, he probably won't get away with it. "We really advocate people having these types of things because if you look at this picture, it's pretty clear, there's no doubt as to who took that package and who left that front yard because this guy is committing a felony crime," Carner said. "We're gonna get this guy just because somebody put in a good surveillance camera." Take a look again at the suspect.  He's about 6-foot-2 and had brown hair and a beard.
