Some dry periods but mainly stormy in Seattle through weekend

SEATTLE -- Rainy and windy through the weekend. There will be some dry periods each day but you can count on heavy rain at times with wind gusts over 35 mph.

The heaviest rain and wind should be each afternoon and evening. The mountains will get tons of snow. Each day the ski areas should get 6+ inches. Great news for skiers but later in the week the avalanche danger increases.

Enjoy the dry periods while you can since we are in for stormy weather through the weekend. Mild night with lows near 40.
