Mother shot in head is in serious but stable condition

KENT --A Kent woman was found shot in the head inside her own home on the 24500 block of 104 Ave SE Sunday night and the gunman is still on the loose.

Kent Police officers responded to the 24500 block of 104 Ave SE at 9:04 pm, for a report of a female that had been shot. When patrol officers arrived they found the wounded female in the residence with a serious gunshot wound to the head.

She was responsive and breathing at the time of their arrival. Medical personnel’s effort to stabilize her was successful, whereupon the woman was transported to a nearby medical facility for additional treatment.

Police said late Monday night that the woman was in serious but stable condition.

There were no others injured during this incident, though there were six children in the home at the time of the crime.

Working with limited information, investigators do know that gunshots were fired into the residence which housed multiple people to include children. The motive for the shooting at this time is unknown.

“This incident could have easily been far more devastating” Said Kent Police Detective Melanie Frazier.



While the gunman fled the scene, Kent Police are working to develop further information. Investigators do not have suspect information or description to release at this time. It’s anticipated that investigators will remain on scene for several more hours while they continue their investigation.
