Local company tells employees to take day after Super Bowl off

SEATTLE -- Talk about a cool boss.

Doug Beighle, the president of Simulab Corporation, emailed his employees recently and told them he would close the office Monday for a "Super Holiday" if the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos Sunday.

"I want to encourage everyone to enjoy the Super Bowl as much as they want," Beighle said in a Facebook post about his decision. "To facilitate this, when the Seahawks win, Simulab will be closed Monday, Feb. 3 in honor of this historic day."

And even if -- God forbid -- the Hawks,  Beighle said everyone will be able to report to work two hours late and leave at their normal time.

He also encouraged other companies in the Puget Sound region to follow his example and let workers take the day off should the Hawks win.

Simulab is a medical simulation company that has been providing task trainers and surgical simulators to the medical education community since 1994. It is based in Ballard.

I just sent this message out to our entire team at Simulab. I think all companies in the Puget Sound region should immediately put this plan in place. Share if you would like your company to follow this plan.

I want to encourage everyone to enjoy the Super Bowl as much as they want. To facilitate this: When the Seahawks win, Simulab will be closed Monday, Feb. 3 in honor of this historic day. If the Seahawks lose everyone can report to work 2 hours late and then leave at your normal time.

Go SEA---HAWKS

GO SIMULAB
