Seahawks hold first practice in N.J. for Super Bowl

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Seattle Seahawks held their first practice Monday in New Jersey in preparation for Sunday's Super Bowl.

The Seahawks worked  at the New York Giants’ indoor facility, while the Denver Broncos reported practiced outside at the New York Jets facility.

“We had a great workout today,” coach Pete Carroll said. “It was a ‘Bonus Monday’ for us, a little bit more than we get during a normal week’s practice. The guys took to it. We had great tempo and enthusiasm. It was really cool. We’re off to a great start.”

“It was great,” left tackle Russell Okung said. “The guys were able to open up and run after a long flight (Sunday) and after a little bit of time off. But we are the Seattle Seahawks, man, and we’re a competitive bunch. And that’s our game every day.”

Tuesday is "Media Day" for the players at Super Bowl XLVIII.
