Burglary suspect shot in the leg by homeowner

crimesceneTHURSTON COUNTY — A suspected burglar was in the hospital Wednesday morning, after he was shot by a home owners.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night at a home in the 6900 block of Puget Beach Rd. NE, near Olympia.

Thurston County sheriff’s deputies say a couple arrived home to find a male burglar in their house.  A confrontation ensued and the homeowner shot the suspect in the leg.

The 27-year old suspect was taken to St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.  He was later transferred to Harborview in Seattle for surgery.

    The home owner made one major mistake in that he didn't kill the intruder, because dead men don't sue, and unfortunately the law is setup to protect criminals from people who defend themselves. But it starts off in school because a bully can pick on a kid for weeks or months and the school dose nothing, but when the kid gets tired of it and pops the bully he is the one who gets in trouble and then ends up having to apologize to the bully.
