Murder investigation under way in Whatcom County

BELLINGHAM — The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it is investigating the slaying of a man in his house in Sudden Valley.


Sudden Valley, Wash.

The office said that at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to Lake Louise Drive in Sudden Valley after a son said he found his 60-year-old father dead in his residence.

“The matter is being investigated as a homicide and a person of interest has been identified. The Sheriff’s Office does not believe there is any continuing threat to the community,” a statement said.

The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending positive identification by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation is proceeding and further details are not available for release at this time.
