PolygamyLAKE FOREST PARK — A man has been charged with bigamy, after he allegedly married a second wife, while still married to his first.

King County prosecutors say Patrick McDaniel, 47, was married to his first wife for 23 years, and she found out about his other wife on Facebook.

According to charging papers, she and McDaniel were still living together and not separated at  the time. She then filed divorce papers, and contacted police in Lake Forest Park. The couple have three children together.

McDaniel reportedly married his second wife in May 2012, after a year of dating. According to court papers, the woman thought McDaniel was divorced.

Police say McDaniel admitted to marrying both women, and told police he filed for divorce after the women found out about each other.

He remains free on charges of bigamy, but if convicted, could spend up to a year in prison.
