Woman found dead in Kirkland home was strangled, medical examiner says

KIRKLAND -- Kirkland police are investigating the slaying of a 28-year-old woman, who was found in the bedroom of a Kirkland home Monday.

The King  County Medical Examiner's Office on Wednesday identified the victim as Amy Gang and determined she died from strangulation.

Kirkland police said officers were called to a home in the 9800 block of NE 130th Place after a resident at the address contacted police after finding the woman's body in a bedroom of the home. Detectives were called to the scene and executed a search warrant.

Police Lt. Mike Murray said they interviewed one person in connection with the victim's death, but added that he could not say was the person's relationship was to the victim.

Murray said the homicide does not appear to be a random crime.
