3 suspected cell phone robbers arrested on New Year's

SEATTLE -- Just hours into the new year police arrested three women suspected of walking through crowds and stealing cell phones.

The first robbery was reported just after midnight in the 500 block of Broad Street, according to Seattle police.

Less than two hours later another victim reported a robbery at a bus stop near 2nd Avenue and Pike Street.

Officers found two suspects nearby and arrested them after they were identified as the robbers. They were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery and warrants.

Police said a third suspect, a juvenile girl, was in possession of two stolen cell phones. She was taken to the Youth Service Center on two counts of possession of stolen property and an outstanding warrant.
