Police investigating South Seattle park shooting

SEATTLE -- Police are searching for clues in a double shooting at a South Seattle park that left victims needing surgery.

Police received word of a possible shooting after two gunshot victims were dropped off at Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries around 1 a.m. Tuesday. One of the victims sustained an injury to the leg and abdomen and the other to the arm. Both underwent surgery early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the victims said they were parked at Kubota Gardens Park in the 9800 block of 55 Avenue South Monday night when a suspect vehicle cruised into the park. Two men got out of the suspect car, walked to the victims' vehicle and tried to steal a purse, the victims told police. The men then shot the two victims in the car.

Police drove to Kubota Gardens but could not locate any casings, cars or evidence of a crime.

They are currently investigating the shooting and continuing to interview the victims.
