Police looking for knife-wielding man who robbed QFC

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for an armed robber who took  goods from a QFC after threatening a clerk with a 6-inch knife early Tuesday morning, Seattle police said.

Police received a report of shoplifting that escalated into a robbery at 1:55 a.m. at the QFC in the 9900 block of Holman Road NW. When police arrived on the scene, they interviewed a female clerk who had witnessed a man loading several items into a basket and trying to walk out of the store without paying, police said.

When the employee confronted the suspect, the man allegedly pulled a knife and told her to "stay away from him," police said. The man then got into a maroon, older model Toyota Camry and drove away.

Police said the suspect was a white male, 18 to 22 years old, 5'10" tall and 170 pounds. He had sandy-colored hair and was clean shaven.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 911.
