49ers fans get billboard, but not close to CenturyLink Field

SEATTLE -- Remember all the hubbub about San Francisco 49ers fans buying a billboard and bragging to Seahawks fans about all their Super Bowl wins?

Well, they got the billboard. But it won't be across the street from CenturyLink Field as originally planned.

49ers fans have purchased ad space on a digital billboard off of Interstate 5 in Fife. The billboard, a full 27 miles south of CenturyLink Field, will show the 49ers previous Lombardi Trophies with the text, "Got Lombardis?"

Fans of the 49ers paid $7,000 for space on the billboard, the P.I. reported, and raised more than $11,000 total. The extra money is slated to be donated to the Seattle Children's hospital.
