Driver injured in collision with 1,200 lb. moose



SPOKANE -- A driver was seriously injured Tuesday when he hit a 1,200 pound moose crossing the road.

According to the Spokesman-Review, William Watersman, 67, was traveling southbound on Highway 395 north of Loon Lake when a moose walked out in front his 1994 Subaru Legacy. Watersman struck the moose, and his Subaru rolled down a ditch and hit a tree.

Watersman was transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash, the Spokesman-Review reported.

The condition of the moose was not known Wednesday.
