Everett police: one person dead in apartment fire

Everett Fatal Apt FireEVERETT – Everett Police tweeted that one person died in an apartment fire in Everett, early Sunday morning.  Police said that Hewitt Avenue was closed from Oakes to Wetmore.  The fire broke out around 7 a.m. Sunday.  My Everett News reported that Assistant Everett Fire Marshal Eric Hicks confirmed the fatality.  The fire was at the Hodges apartments.  Hicks said that the ffire broke pout on the 4th floor and at least 4 united were damaged, My Everett News reported.

About 3 dozen people live in the apartments at the corner of Hewitt and Rockefeller. Everett Fire and Everett Police Investigators are on the scene looking into the cause of the fatal fire. No word yet on the identity of the person killed.
