JBLM soldiers on the march with holiday toys

JOINT BASE LEWIS McCHORD - It's a holiday event that was bound to turn some heads.  More than one-thousand soldiers from Joint Base Lewis McChord marched across base Thursday morning, delivering holiday gifts for the children of military families, some of whom are experiencing financial difficulty.  Soldiers  from the 555th Engineer Brigade, 7th Infanty Division ("Triple Nickel"), some wearing Santa hats and holiday attire, marched the three miles from Able Field to the Northwest Adventure Center.

The soldiers marched in military formation, in support of JBLM's holiday gift initiative "Santa's Castle", which has provided gift to the children of the military since 1994.  Last year Santa's Castle provided gifts to almost 2,000 children from over 800 families.
