RENTON — Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that starting cornerback Brandon Browner’s groin injury “looks pretty serious” and he probably won’t play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
But Carroll said the Hawks’ All-Pro center Max Unger (concussion), Pro Bowl left tackle Russell Okung (toe) and right tackle Breno Giacomini (knee) could all play this week after missing last week with injuries.
“It’s a very upbeat feeling around our locker room right now,” Carroll said. “These guys are excited to see Russell and Breno back in. Max comes back to us this week, as well … there’s a chance all three of those guys could play this week for us.”
But not Browner, who injured his groin in the Seahawks’ 33-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons Sunday.
“It looks pretty serious,” Carroll said. “We’ll know later in the week. He’s got a substantial groin issue there.”
The players will have their day off on Tuesday and before turning Wednesday to begin practicing for Sunday’s game against the Vikings.
