Bellingham Police investigate attempted child abduction

SEATTLE -- A 10 year old girl walking in the 2300 block of Utter Street in Bellingham around 1:45 p.m. Saturday reported a man following her in a car, said Lt. Rick Sucee.

The girl told police a forest green 4 door car with tinted windows and a lot of mud on the lower part of the car stopped next to her.

She said that the man pointed something at her beneath his sweatshirt, that she assumed was a gun, and ordered her into the car, said Sucee.

The girl ran home and the car drove off.

The suspect is described as a man with a "tan" complexion, with a lot of scratches on his arms and black sunglasses.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Bellingham Police Department at 360-676-6911.
