Boy,12, shot in hunting accident

SPOKANE — Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife officials are investigating a hunting accident that seriously injured a 12-year-old boy Saturday in Whitman County.

According to the Spokesman Review, the boy was accidentally shot and seriously hurt while on a hunting trip with his family in southwest Whitman County. The boy was driven to the Whitman Community Hospital and then transported to the Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

The boy was expected to survive, the Review reported.
