campionSEATTLE — Police are investigating an attack on a Seattle University student near James Street, said SU spokesperson Stacy Howard.

Campus officials said the attack happened around 3:45 a.m. Saturday, when the suspect began following the woman at Broadway and Pine.

The student  told the suspect to leave her alone and stop following her.

She cut through the wooded area north of Campion Tower when he grabbed her from behind, said Howard.

As he pinned her to the ground, he demanded her cell phone.

When she refused, he threatened to sexually assault her.

The student broke free and called police.

Howard said officers searched for the man, but couldn’t find him.

The suspect is described as a clean-cut dark skinned man, 25 to 35 years old, and anywhere from 5’9″ to 5’11.

He was last seen wearing a red rain jacket with grey stripes down the sleeves and blue jeans.

If you have any information on the suspect, call Seattle Police.
