duiThe Washington State Patrol will be out in full force this weekend, as part of a special DUI emphasis for Halloween.

Troopers will heavily patrol the I-5 corridor, from Seattle’s Ravenna neighborhood to Tukwila. They’ll be out daily from noon to 4 a.m., using marked and unmarked police cars.

The emphasis runs through Friday morning.

Last year’s patrol efforts saw an 81 percent increase in DUI arrests, and a 60 percent increase in traffic stops compared to the year before.

There were no traffic fatalities in the area in 2012 … and the WSP wants to make sure there are none again this year.
