Accused Portland car-jacker surrenders ater seeing himself on Crime Stoppers website

heasley webFUGITIVE CAPTURED October 15, 2013 -- The Portland Police Bureau says Ronald Heasley surrendered at the Multnomah County Courthouse on Tuesday, stating he turned himself in after seeing his picture on Crime Stoppers. Heasley was booked on charges of Robbery in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and booked into the Multnomah County Jail.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN PORTLAND October 14, 2013 -- Portland Police say it all started on Tuesday night, June 4th, when a Broadway Cab driver was assaulted and the taxi stolen at Southwest Naito Parkway and Morrison Street. Detectives say Ronald Heasley is the accused cab robber they're looking for, and need help finding. The cab driver told police he was stopped on the Morrison Bridge heading west, when Heasley ran up to the cab, stopped it, jumped in the passenger seat -- and began assaulting him. The taxi driver told police he got out of the cab to defend himself, and the suspect took off with his car. Police say the stolen taxi was recovered a few hours later in Vancouver, Washington. Ronald Heasley is 42 years old, 5'4", 170 lbs., and believed to be in the Portland/Vancouver Metro Area.
