Can I drive this vintage Seattle Police car?

ritter 2Q: Is there any law against owning a vintage police car? At auto shows, I see people with them who are not cops? A: Under the rules of Washington, there are no laws prohibiting someone from owning vintage police cars. However, the state does regulate what laws apply to the emergency equipment that's on them. Cars driven by individuals on public roadways are not allowed to have any emergency equipment on them whatsoever, particularly red lights, blue lights, and sirens. What most people do is trailer their police cars to an event, and apply the emergency equipment on them once they get to the venue. In the case of Seattle Police's 1970 Plymouth Satellite, it's owned by the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum, which uses these vehicles as public education tools for the agencies they represent." -- Seattle Police Ofc.
