Driver killed, passenger injured in West Seattle rollover crash

SEATTLE - Speed was most definitely was a factor, and it cost the driver of a car his life.  One man died and the passenger in his car was critically injured in a rollover crash early Sunday in West Seattle, the Seattle police department reported.  Police said that car was travelling southbound in the 4800 block of West Marginal Way just after midnight.  A witness said that the car was speeding, possibly going over 100 miles per hour.

The diver of the car lost control,  hitting a tree, and then rolling over several times.  Police and fire department crews responded and pronounced the driver dead at the scene.  The passenger was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.  Seattle police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.  The King County medical examiner's office will release the identity of the driver.
