Semi, wheelchair collision leaves 1 dead in Hoquiam

HOQUIAM — A person in a motorized wheelchair was struck and killed Tuesday by a tractor-trailer near the Simpson Avenue Bridge in Hoquiam, the Daily World reported.

The truck apparently struck the wheelchair at the intersection of 22nd Street and Simpson Avenue and was dragged onto 22nd Street, the World said.

The truck was was owned by Ocean Express.

No other information was immediately available.
