Woman shot, found dead on Burke-Gilman Trail



SEATTLE -- Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found shot on the Burke-Gilman trail early Friday morning.

According to Seattle police, the woman's body was found at 4:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Northlake Way. Police believe the woman, who was in her 20s, was murdered. They do not believe the woman was randomly targeted.

Homicide and crime scene investigators are still on the scene.

A passerby called 911 when they saw the body on the trail, the Seattle Times reported.
