State suspends license of Yakima-area physician charged with rape

OLYMPIA -- State medical authorities have suspended the medical license of a Yakima-area physician after two of his female patients accused him of sexual misconduct.

Prosecutors have filed a charge of second-degree rape against Dr. Fady Sabry, which led state officials to immediately suspend his license.

The Medical Quality Assurance Commission and the state Department of Health took the action based on allegations Sabry inappropriately touched the two patients during exams in his office.

Sabry was arrested two weeks ago and can’t practice as a physician in Washington until the charges are resolved.

He has 20 days to respond to the statement of charges filed by the commission and the Department of Health and request a hearing.
