LACEY -- A man suspected of stabbing two people, one fatally, in two separate locations in the Lacey area was arrested late Monday afternoon, The Olympian reported. The victim who died was believed to be the suspect's mother.

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office said it had arrested a 30-year-old suspect in the case.

Thurston County sheriff's deputies were first called to a home in the 900 block of Marvin Road when a woman, attempting to return a lost dog to that home, found the home's occupant stabbed in the neck next to his wheelchair in the house. While police were investigating that stabbing, the female victim's husband discovered his wife stabbed to death in their home in the 4200 block of Foxhall Drive in Hawks Prairie, The Olympian said.

The male victim in the wheelchair was in critical condition at Providence St. Peter Hospital, the newspaper said.
