GUEST: We throw away nearly $2,000 in food each year

SEATTLE -- Every year, the average American household throws away 25 percent of the food they buy, adding up to more than $1,600 a year. A new campaign by King County is hoping to help curb that.

“Food: Too Good to Waste” is a video series filled with tips on how we can stop throwing so much food away every week. From shopping smart, to tips on keeping fruits and vegetables fresh- the series has a ton of great tips. Click here to watch.
