Damage claims rise in wake of Everett floods

EVERETT -- Damage claims from recent floods in Everett continue to come flood, lightly speaking, the city's offices.

The city has heard from more than 70 homeowners and businesses, and expect even more claims.

The city may also have to foot the bill for two Snohomish County Public Utility buildings where about $700,000 in damage was done in the basements.

Everett's mayor has vowed to cover the costs of the flood damage. The surge of water caused sewer systems to overflow into several homes, causing a lot of damage and clean-up.
