Police searching for suspect in Capitol Hill stabbing

Knife Stabbing- Police Tape- LightsSEATTLE — Police are searching for a man they said stabbed another man in the right armpit shortly after 12 a.m. Tuesday in Capitol Hill.

The 30-year-old victim was stabbed once in the right armpit after midnight in the 1700 block of Bellevue Avenue, police said. The victim then walked into City Market, told workers he had been stabbed and called police before being transported with non-life-threatening injuries to the Havborview Medical Center.

Witnesses said the victim was spotted holding a 2″ X 4″ shortly before the stabbing. The victim and the suspect allegedly got into a shouting match prior to the incident.

The suspect is described as Asian or Hispanic, 5’8″ tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap and a black leather jacket while running eastbound on East Howell street.

Officers were not immediately able to locate the suspect.

Anyone with information on the stabbing should call 911.
