Police release sketch of suspected child abductor in Lacey



THURSTON COUNTY -- Police released the sketch of a man they believe responsible for trying to abduct a 10-year-old girl Sunday in Thurston County.

According to the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, the girl was taking out the trash in the 700 block of Merkel Way NE in Lacey when she was approached by a Hispanic male in a vehicle. The suspect left his vehicle, grabbed her arm and tried to force the girl into the car. The girl managed to escape his hold and ran back into her house. The suspect drove off, police said.

The girl sustained some minor scratches on her arm but did not need medical attention.

The suspect is described as a younger Hispanic male, 5'8" tall, skinny build, dark skin and dark buzzed cut hair. He was wearing a baseball hat, t-shirt and dark gray pants. He was driving an older, beat-up Honda type vehicle with dark green paint. He has a dark burn on his face and hazel eyes.

According to the girl, there was another Hispanic male in the passenger seat.
