Longtime Seattle news anchor Kathi Goertzen will be honored later this month, and she surely would have approved.

It has been more than a year now since she died following a long battle with brain cancer.

Goertzen graduated from Washington State University and her legacy there will live on.

A university building on the Pullman campus will be renamed in her honor.

WSU officials say she touched the lives of many with her courageous public struggle without losing her warmth and sense of humor.

She fought brain tumors for 14 years.
