Amazon to offer e-book versions of print purchases for cheap
SEATTLE -- Amazon revealed an upcoming program allowing customers to merge their print and Kindle libraries for little or no cost.
The Kindle "MatchBook" program starts in October. Customers who have purchased print books from Amazon since 1995 can purchase an electronic version of the book to download.
The most expensive titles will cost $2.99, and some titles will even be available for free. E-book versions can be downloaded to a Kindle, Apple or Android tablet with the free Kindle app.
About 10,000 books will be included in the program in its initial launch. More books will become available once publishers enroll them into the program.
