KENT – A Kent man got a very rude awakening early Sunday morning when a suspected drunk driver plowed his car into the sleeping man’s apartment building.  Kent Fire and Police Department personnel responded to the crash in the 23600 block of Pacific Highway South just after 2 a.m.   Investigators found the car wedged in the apartment, having narrowly missing the sleeping resident, the Kent Fire Department reported.

Investigators think the the suspected impaired driver ran off the road and hit the apartment building.  The sleeping resident was not injured by the crash.  The driver of the car was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of D.U.I.  Officials have determined that damaged apartment unit is unstable and cannot be inhabited until workers stabilize the building.  The American Red Cross is providing the apartment resident with housing assistance.
