3-year-old boy dies after being left in hot car

Child Abuse GenericPASCO, Wash. — A 3-year-old boy was found dead inside a hot car Sunday in Pasco, the Tri-City Herlad reports.

According to the Herald, police believe his parents left him in the car in the 3000 block of Seabrook Court on accident. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office will release the official cause of death in the next few days.

Each year, dozens of small children die after accidentally being left in hot cars. The problem was chronicled by the Washington Post’s 2009 Pulitzer-Prize winning story, “Fatal Distraction.”

    That's what I don't get!!! How do you forget your kid in the car? -drunk? Wasted? Not afraid to be punished? IT BOOGLES MY MIND I actually got into a fight with someone this weekend. She said its because they don't worry about the punishment— I say these people are claiming they forgot-HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN???? YOU CAN'T FORGET UNLESS YOU ARE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OR JUST SO STUPID.

    How do you just " Accidentally " Leave your child behind in a HOT CAR?!?!
    Yeah I know my daughter falls asleep in the car when we go food shopping but I WAKE HER UP AN TAKE HER WITH ME!!!!
    I don't just leave her there!
