Sounders' Johnson shines in USMNT friendly

SEATTLE -- Sounders FC players Eddie Johnson and Brad Evans made the trip to Bosnia-Herzegovina for the U.S. Men's National Team friendly match Wednesday. Johnson and Evans got the nod, starting the match. The U.S. fell behind quickly in the first half, trailing 2-0. Johnson had the first American goal in the 55th minute. It'd be the first of four U.S. goals as Jozy Altidore finished off the hat-trick good for the 4-3 win.

Johnson played 62  minutes before being replaced by Aron Johannsson. Evans went 88 minutes before Bobby Wood took over.

The United States has increased their winning streak to 12 matches. Altidore has scored in five straight appearances, a first for a U.S. player. Johnson overtook DeMarcus Beasley for the most U.S. appearances in 2013. They both sat at 12 before this match. Beasley didn't make the trip.

Today's victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina marks the first time the U.S. has come back to win a game in Europe.
