Overnight lightning knocks out power to thousands

SEATTLE - Ka-BOOM!  Did you hear it?! Mother Nature delivered a knockout punch, with some intense thunder and lightning to the Puget Sound region overnight, knocking out power to thousands of Seattle City Light customers.  A Seattle City Light spokesman said that lightning hit three transformers around 1 a.m. Saturday causing 3800 customers to lose power.  The transformers were on the west side of Queen Anne hill, and in Burien.

As of 8 a.m. Saturday, City Light crews have restored power to all but 18 customers
