Soccer star, Clint Dempsey, traded to Sounders

SEATTLE -- Seattle soccer fans are abuzz over the U.S. Men's National Team Captain, Clint Dempsey, being traded to the Sounders.

Fans showed their enthusiasm Saturday as they packed into Centurylink field for the Sounders match against FC Dallas, where the soccer star was introduced to the crowd.

Dempsey was traded from the North London club, Tottenham Hotspur.

Dempsey, who scored 23 goals for Fulham two years ago, was not a regular at Tottenham last season but played enough minutes to score 12 times in all competition.

Dempsey played three seasons in MLS for New England before moving to Fulham in 2006.

Last year he led the national team with six goals in nine games.
