Everett grandmother shot in home: 'They're not going to scare me out'

EVERETT -- An Everett grandmother hit twice in a drive-by shooting said she’s lived in her house on Fulton Street for 14 years and won’t be scared away.

"I'm just real upset about it," Diane Erickson said.   She was sleeping on the couch about 3 a.m. Saturday when bullets came through the wall.

“I heard what I thought was firecrackers but I looked down and my nightgown had holes in it," Erickson said.  "Blood kept coming and coming and coming. that's when I realized I'd been shot."

Police don't believe the 56 year old woman was the intended target.

"There's a lot of speculation out there by witnesses and folks that have called us.  But, not of that has been confirmed by our investigators," said Sgt. Robert Goetz of the Everett Police Department. "There are a lot of players if you will in this case."
