Archaeologists dig up Seattle's past to bore into the future

SEATTLE -- The Alaskan Way tunneling project is well under way and the hole in the ground is a portal to Seattle's past.

However, before the boring machine can make its inaugural run, a group of archaeologists must excavate the tunnel's entrances and exits.
