Woman arrested after stealing man's car, running him down, police say

SEATTLE -- Police responded to calls of a female driver in a black sedan intentionally running down a man on foot early Wednesday morning in West Seattle.

Officers investigated calls of vehicular assault around 6 a.m. in the 9400 block of 11th Avenue SW. The driver of a 2007 black Cadillac DTS allegedly intentionally hit a 24-year-old man and then fled the scenr while trying to steal the man's car.

The patient suffered head trauma and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Witnesses to the incident told police that the man and woman knew each other. They also said the Cadillac the woman was driving was the victim's and that she had stolen it from him.

Late Wednesday morning, police found the woman and arrested her. She will be booked into King County Jail.
