ChickTACOMA — The Chick-Fil-A franchise hopes to open a drive-through restaurant in Tacoma sometime in the near future, the Tacoma News Tribune reported.

According to the Tribune, the Georgia-based company filed plans with the city of Tacoma Wednesday morning to open a restaurant in the area. The restaurant would be located at 3902 Steele St. near the Tacoma Mall in what was previously a furniture store. The restaurant would be the first of its kind in Washington state, the News Tribune reported, with others expected to open in the area because of supply chain needs.

The company is privately owned, and has recently come under scrutiny as its founders spoke out against gay marriage earlier this year, and have long been identified as conservative Christians.

If that happens, they can sure count on my business. I can appreciate Christian values as a standard for business practices.

So they have "long been identified as conservative Christians". I don't think they ever hid that they are. You make it sound bad that they have a belief just because you disagree with it. So what if the founder has strong beliefs and closes on Sundays and religious holidays. They are a good employer that young people like to work for because they are that. Unlike Walmart, Burger KIng Target or Wendy's where it is the worship of profit for shareholders and board members.

For those who may not know about Chick-fil-A, they are an awesome company with 45 consecutive years of annual sales growth since their inception in 1967! In 2011 they had $4.1 billion in annual sales and in 2012 had $4.6 billion in sales. That's an increase of $500 million in just one year! And, that's in spite of all the hoopla last year. Plus, in February 2012 they became debt free and now run their business entirely from internal cash. Say what you will, but this is a very successful company that provides a quality product, excellent customer service, and clean restaurants. They are absolutely the best IMO!
